During the first consultation I will get a full history from you about your dog including any injuries, conditions, their dietary information and exercise. I will perform a posture and gait analysis and an initial palpation followed by their first massage. The session will take approximately 1.5 hours. Some simple steps such as having the massage in a quiet area of the house can make a big difference to their experience. I will give you home care advice and will communicate with you what the plan of treatment is likely to be from what I have discovered during this session.

Consultation and 1st massage £40

Maintenance massages are sessions following on after the initial 3 massage sessions. When these are needed depends on your dog and they can vary from being anywhere between 3 and 16 weeks. I will give you advice on what signs to look for which will indicate another session is due. They help to keep your dog in their best condition and are suitable for all dogs from those with chronic orthopaedic conditions to sporting dogs.

Dogs with orthopaedic conditions such as Osteoarthritis, Hip dysplasia and Spondylosis will overcompensate using other muscles which then are more prone to trigger points, myofascial pain, strains and becoming hypertonic. Maintenance massages are very successful at easing these muscles which are having to work harder.

If your dog is entering a sporting competition, massage during their training and prior to their event will keep them working at their best by picking up any muscular dysfunction before it may come an issue if their exercise intensity increases.

Maintenance Massage £35

The third session includes a 50 minute to an hour massage. Often by the third massage we will be seeing changes within your dogs activities of daily living and I will be feeling differences within their muscular health. After this session you may be advised that they need further bodywork or can go onto the maintenance sessions. We will work together to come up with a plan and will discuss what signs to look for when they are in need of further treatment.

3rd Massage £35

The second session is a 50 minute to an hour massage depending on how your dog reacts to their treatment. I will enquire how they have been in themselves between the sessions and if you have noticed any changes. Often I am able to work deeper into their tissues during this treatment as we have built a relationship from the first massage session. I will utilise more techniques and work them a little harder to get the best outcome possible from our time together.
